The second edition of Festival Música Sur took place from September 26-30. Under the artistic direction of Juan Carlos Garvayo, together with Trío Arbós this year's festival counted an impressive roster of distinguished artists such as Diotima and Doric String Quartets, the soprano Alda Caiello, the clarinetist Joan Enric Lluna, the violist Paul Cortese, violinist Alexandre da Costa, the bassist Frano Kakarigi, the pianist Isabel Pérez Requeijo, and the actor Pedro María Sánchez.
Here is an excerpt from a review by María Santacecilia in the digital magazine Mundo Clásico:
" A matter of personality: You have it or not. But this festival has got it, starting with its own name: Música Sur... No programs put together with a thin common thread, and others ways to offer "digested" music. Its own artistic director asserts that he passionately chooses the works for this festival out of the music that he loves, the same way he would play his favorite records at home. That is probably one of the keys of its success. But, undoubtedly, the most eloquent thing to do is to place on stage performers of extraordinary quality that give all that they have in their performances. There is no audience that resists that, regardless of their degree of familiarity with classical music."
