José Miguel Gómez, cellist.

José Miguel Gómez is the cellist of Trío Arbós from its foundation in 1996. As a member of this ensemble he has performed all over Spain and in many countries, and recorded for Naxos, Kairos, Col Legno, Verso, IBS Classical and other labels.
He has been especially interested in contemporary music, premiering many pieces, often dedicated to him. In September 2009 he premiered in El Salvador the cello concerto by German Cáceres.
In 2015 he founded the cello festival CelloFabrik.
He was principal chair of the Madrid Chamber Orchestra, and has collaborated with most of the Spanish contemporary music ensembles.
He has taught at the Conservatory of Soria, and presently teaches at the Conservatory Joaquín Turina of Madrid.
José Miguel was born in Malaga, Spain, in 1969. He began his studies at the Málaga Conservatory with Antonio Campos, and then continued at the Royal Conservatory of Music of Madrid with Pedro Corostola, and at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London) with Stefan Popov, where he obtained the Advanced Solo Studies Certificate. He has been the recipient of several awards and scholarships from institutions such as the Bank of Spain, Ministry of Culture, Young Artists, etc.
